OUR STORY
Two birds,
one park trail
Spotter & Ollie began on a Brisbane park trail with two kids, a clipboard and a lot of questions. Why is that magpie swooping? Who lives in the hole in that gum tree? What makes the noise on the roof at night?
What’s in a name
Spotter by day. Ollie by night. One shared adventure.
Spotter the magpie
Our daytime explorer. She carries the sun, knows every gum tree in the park and is only a little bit bossy in spring.
=
Ollie the boobook
Our night-time explorer. He carries the moon, listens before he looks and says “boo-book” when it gets dark.
Sōu qù · search for fun
Our Chinese name. S and O are also our two kids’ initials, so the brand is named after the explorers it was made for.

A note from the founder
It started with two curious kids
Hi, I’m Milla. I’m a mum of two. My kids are happiest outdoors. On the trail they run ahead, full of energy, stopping every few steps with another question. So I started making little activities for them: things to find, things to make, things to figure out together. They quickly became my toughest testers. They play every activity I design and tell me straight: “That was fun!” “Too hard.” “Too easy.” And almost always: “Can you make another one?”
The activities don’t stay on the trail, either. Out and about, they spot gum trees everywhere. “I saw three more gum trees! Is there a koala up there?” And then the questions keep coming:
- If a koala wants to get to the gum tree across the road, how does it get past all those cars?
- What would happen if a koala climbed down and met a kangaroo?
- Why can magpies recognise people, but kangaroos can’t?
- Where do owls go during the day?
- How many ants can live in an ant castle?
- And why don’t the ants in our backyard live in a castle?
The questions never run out. And every week, they can’t wait for the weekend hike.
Spotter & Ollie grew out of those questions. Every activity is played, judged and asked for again by my two little testers before it reaches your family, so you can wonder, explore and find the answers together.

What we believe
Four promises in every pack
Outside first, screen second
Our game has an ending, and the ending sends you outside. The paper pack always comes first.
Bilingual if you want it
Choose English only, or English and Chinese together.
Paper worth keeping
Kids write where and when they found each thing, so the pack becomes a record of their own backyard.
Simple and safe
Paper and card only: no batteries, magnets or split pins. We ask for first names only and never collect children’s data.
